What is FIRST?

The FIRST is a robotics program that “combines the excitement of sports with rigors of science and technology”. There are a few different programs, with different rules and age groups.

• Junior First Lego League (JFLL)

• First Lego League (FLL)

• FTC (First Tech Challenge - What our team is in)

• FRC (First Robotics Competition)

​The program our team, The Prickles, participates in, is FTC. FTC is a robotics competition where students design, build, and program a robot to compete in an alliance against other teams. Participants develop STEM and engineering skills, while learning innovation and teamwork.
